MARMARIS - DACTA - MARMARIS

3

Day 1° – MARMARIS

Boarding. On the first day the gulet will be moored to the port of Marmaris. Welcome drink aboard and pre-departure briefing with the captain on the week cruising schedule. Dinner and overnight stay aboard.

Day 2° – MARMARIS – SERCE

Breakfast aboard. We set sail to Kadirga bay with lunch on board and plenty of time to enjoy its marvellous blue sea. In the afternoon we move on to Serce bay to spend the night. Here the famous 11th century Byzantine ship was discovered and is now part of the Bodrum museum collection.

Day 3° – SERCE – BOZBURUN

After breakfast we stop in the tiny fishing village of Bozburun. Here you can leave the ship and stroll through the village. Sponge fishing was a typical activity of the place. Over the last few years it has been replaced by tourism, though. In the afternoon we reach Kizil island for an overnight stop in the nearby.

Day 4° – SELIMIYE - HISARONU

Once the breakfast is over we sail on to Selimiye Cove in the Hisaronu bay to have lunch. Here you can leave the gulet and walk up the hill to admire its waterfall twisting through the tress. After lunch we explore the bay until Orhaniye, where the blue harmoniously blends into the green. Dinner and overnight stay aboard.

Day 5° – BENCIK - DACTA

After breakfast we move to Bencik. In spite of its very narrow entrance, the view from the inside will leave you speechless. Bencik lies in the narrowest part of the peninsula which separates the Gulf of Hisaronu from the Gulf of Gokova and is sited on the Hisaronu side. In 550s BC the Cnidus people wanted to dig a tunnel in the narrowest land strip of the peninsula between the Hisaronu Gulf and the Gokova Gulf as a defence line against the Persians.
This way they would make two peninsulas one island and the defence would be easier. Despite their diligence and efforts, the city was eventually conquered by the Persians.
After lunch we’ll cruise to Datca. In the 7th century BC the Dorians coming from the Aegean Sea settled in the town. The area is humidless with cool and oxygen-rich air. It turns out that the historian Strabo had a point about the climate of Datca: “God should send his beloved servants here to prolong their lives”. A legend tells of a bunch of Spanish pirates forcing some lepers to leave the ships while they were sailing along the Datca coastline. The lepers settled in the Sanliman bay and got cured by the pure waters of Datca. Overnight stay at the port with many local restaurants to dine at.

Day 6° – BOZUKKALE

In the morning we’ll depart the spellbinding Dacia to set sail to the old town of Loryma, nowadays Bozukkale. Here you can admire its castle and the nine towers of its city walls extending out in a rectangular pattern. The name Bozukkale literally means "broken castle”, possibly because an entire side of the castle is missing. Due to its position and narrow access to the harbour, the city was also used by the Greek fleets as strategic point during the Peloponnesian naval battles. Karor, the commander of Athens, gathered all his ships here prior to the battle of Cnidus in 395 BC and Demetrius, Antigone’s son, used this port to prepare the invasion of Rhodes in 305 BC. Overnight stay in this typical bay. Here you can experience a uniquely different way of shopping.
Dinner and overnight stay aboard.

Day 7° – ISOLA DI ARAP - MARMARIS

Early morning departure for the Arap Island where lunch is served and you can enjoy swimming in its crystal waters. Off to Marmaris in the afternoon, we’ll anchor in its port in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay in the port of Marmaris.

8° Giorno – MARMARIS

Breakfast and landing.

Note: changes to the cruise tour for technical issues may occur. Depending on sea and weather conditions the captain reserves a full right to make necessary changes to the itinerary.
